Getting Started
Cuvo gives you real-time coaching cues during any conversation — interviews, sales calls, 1-on-1s, or anything else where you want an edge. Here’s how to get from zero to your first cue.
Install Cuvo
Download Cuvo from the App Store on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. It requires macOS 26 or iOS 26.
Cuvo runs as a menu bar app — you won’t see it in the Dock. Look for the Cuvo icon in your menu bar after launching.
Cuvo appears as a standard app on your Home Screen. On iPhone, coaching cues also appear on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island during active sessions.
Grant microphone access
Cuvo needs your microphone to transcribe your side of the conversation. The first time you start a session, your device will ask for permission.
If you missed the prompt or need to change it later:
Open and make sure Cuvo is enabled.
Open and make sure Cuvo is enabled.
All transcription happens on-device using Apple SpeechAnalyzer — your audio never leaves your Mac, iPhone, or iPad.
Start your first session
-
Open Cuvo. On macOS, click the menu bar icon. On iPhone or iPad, open the app.
-
Pick your meeting. If you have upcoming calendar events, Cuvo auto-selects the nearest one and infers the right conversation type — Sales for calls with CRM contacts, 1-on-1 for two-person meetings, and so on. Use the dropdown to switch meetings or choose “General conversation” if you’re not in a meeting.
-
Set goals (optional). The goals field lets you tell the AI what you’re focused on. Something like “emphasize our enterprise pricing” or “ask about team culture” helps Cuvo tailor its cues. Leave it blank for general coaching.
-
Tap the microphone button to start your session.
-
Talk. Cuvo transcribes your conversation in real time and periodically delivers coaching cues — suggestions, talking points, and reminders tailored to what’s happening right now.
That’s it. Your first cue should arrive within moments of starting the conversation.
What happens next
As you use Cuvo more, you can:
- Connect your calendar — Cuvo auto-selects your next meeting and infers the conversation type, attendees, and context. Grant calendar access when prompted, or connect Google Calendar via Integrations.
- Connect your CRM — When a meeting includes contacts from HubSpot or Pipedrive, Cuvo auto-matches them and pulls in deal history, notes, and details for richer cues.
- Attach reference documents — PDFs, notes, or cloud pages from Notion and Google Docs that give the AI extra context.
- Capture system audio (macOS) — Hear both sides of a call on Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, or any other app.
- Enable Auto Mode (macOS) — Cuvo detects your calls and starts coaching automatically, complete with calendar context and CRM matching.
Explore Conversation Types to learn what each mode is optimized for, or jump to Coaching Cues to understand how cues are generated and how to get the most from them.
